Aegis ORTHO is a light-cured bonding adhesive used for bonding orthodontic brackets and bands to etched enamel.
Publications including the Los Angeles Times and Biomaterials Forum have featured articles describing a new class of "smart materials", known as ACP. ACP, when in conjunction with a bonding adhesive, has demonstrated the ability to self-activate in a low pH oral environment and return to a dormant state when the pH level has returned to normal. In scientific studies and testing, ACP has demonstrated the ability to significantly accelerate the tooth's own natural calcium phosphate remineralization process, in turn, helping prevent demineralization attributed to micro-leakage or non-compliant patient oral hygiene.
